A daytime Media Forward event designed for students and recent graduates, featuring tours of WBAL’s AM, FM, and TV broadcast operations, alumni success stories, live engagement with SBE, and career discussions.

Join SMPTE DC for a special Media Forward program at WBAL, designed to introduce students to careers in broadcast media through tours of WBAL’s AM, FM, and TV operations, alumni success stories, live SBE study support for CRO/CTO certifications, and advice on education, mentorship, and professional opportunities. Remarks will be shared by Karl Kuhn, Joanne, Jonathan Solomon, Kerry Plackmeyer, Perry Priestley, Chris Singleton, and SBE leadership.

Intended Audience, including:

High school juniors and seniors from WKHS (Kent County)
Students from Montgomery College and Towson University
Educators, mentors, engineers, and media professionals from SMPTE and SBE

Volunteers & Sponsors Needed

Media Forward is a SMPTE DC initiative that connects high school and college students with broadcast and media professionals through tours, presentations, and mentorship — helping inspire the next generation of engineers, technologists, and storytellers.
