Following a brief hiatus, we resume our 2010 tour of facility upgrades and HD conversions. When we last met at the DPTV Riley Broadcast Center, in November 2008, the then-new Master Control area was the focus of the evening's presentation. This month, we will see what has been accomplished since then, with the recently completed production studio and support areas, and new HD mobile unit.

DPTV Engineering VP Helge Blucher will discuss the engineering and architectural challenges that were faced transforming available space into its present form as a television production facility. A tour of the station will follow Helge's presentation.

Helge Blucher has served as Vice President of Engineering & Technology at WTVS, Detroit Public Television, since 1998. He has over 30 years experience in television engineering in the US and Canada, with more than 20 years in the Detroit area in TV production and broadcasting.
