Detroit Section Meeting Notice
W. Wallace Murray
Central Region Governor
Fox Sports Detroit is the regional sports network in the Detroit market. This past fall, FSDetroit went live with their all-new HD origination studio, with concurrent HD upgrades in the entire plant. Gary Seleski will provide us with a description of the processes and challenges encountered with this project, discuss venue and network interconnects, and conduct a tour of the plant. The FSDetroit facility has a 20 x 30' production studio with a custom set, new HD cameras, switcher, CG, servers, and audio console. Avid editing and Interplay asset management round out the post-production side. FSDetroit is tied via HD fiber to The Palace, JLA, Comerica Park and the Fox Sports Network TOC in Houston.
Gary Seleski has been in the TV engineering field for over 25 years. He has worked at local cable outlets, at Pro-Vision, a sister company of PASS Sports, at that time the regional sports network. Since then, Gary has worked at WXYZ, WTVS and Ford Motor Company in various engineering roles, along the way adding IT to his interests and responsibilities. Gary has been CE at FS Detroit for the past year and a half.
Due to earlier than usual meeting time, managers and meeting attendees are welcome to join in for a quick meal or snack, starting at 5pm, just south of our meeting site, at TGI Friday's, 26299 Evergreen Road, Southfield.
