SUBJECT:   Digital Archiving Solutions


An overview of the systems and operation of a digital archive solution designed for television news department. Highlights of this presentation will include; selection of a reference system to index metadata, ingest of assets, finding what you need when you need it and long term storage. An in-depth look at various search engines will examine integrating the IBM OmniFind in the newsroom environment. A demonstration of practical uses will highlight archival footage with today's breaking news pace.

Zen Losin is the chief engineer and partner of Walter Media Works; and designer of this digital archive solution. Mr. Losin's work experience includes engineering at WXYZ, WKBD, WWJ and WSMH. Walter Media Works was featured in the April 7, 2007 issue of TV Technology titled "The Tip of the Iceberg".
